The Mediaforum Association, the successor of the Editors\u2019 Forum announces the Quality Journalism Award for 2026. Our goal is to identify, promote, and recognise Hungary’s most outstanding media content. The award is conferred by a jury invited by the M\u00e9diaf\u00f3rum Association. Throughout the year, the jury announces the best media content for each quarter. In February 2027, we will announce the overall winners for the full 2026 year: the one-million-forint Grand Prize and the special awards. By showcasing exceptional journalistic achievements, the M\u00e9diaf\u00f3rum Association aims to invigorate professional public life and draw audiences’ attention to the values of independent media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Submission Details<\/b><\/p>\n

Submissions for the award are accepted on a rolling basis for Hungarian-language media content published during the relevant period. The competition is open to text-based (online or print), audio, still, or moving image content; therefore, alongside articles, we also welcome submissions of television and radio materials, photo reports, online videos, and podcasts. Anyone may submit an entry; the jury also reserves the right to nominate content independently.<\/span><\/p>\n

Evaluation Criteria<\/b><\/p>\n

Jury members are delegated by the organisational members of the M\u00e9diaf\u00f3rum Association. Entries are judged on the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n

Formal Excellence: Quality of language, style, and clarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quality of Editing: Logical structure and the harmony between content and form.<\/span><\/p>\n

Relevance: Importance and timeliness of the chosen topic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Depth of Research: The quantity, quality, and verification of the information and facts presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Innovation: Originality of the subject matter or the method of processing.<\/span><\/p>\n
