The association’s statutes outline its primary objectives, which include: representing and promoting the social significance and values of the independent Hungarian media sector to the widest possible audience; coordinating and advocating for the adoption of standards across various fields; fostering solidarity within the sector; advancing its institutions and practices; improving the working conditions of media professionals; exploring, developing, and offering advocacy and legal support opportunities; and strengthening the sector’s institutional network both in Hungary and internationally.<\/p>\n
The Media Forum Association was established in 2024 following an amendment to the name and statutes of the Forum of Editors-in-Chief, which was founded in 2012.<\/p>\n
