Quality Journalism Award

The Mediaforum Association, the successor of the Editors’ Forum announces the relaunch of the Quality Journalism Award.

The award aims to recognize and celebrate Hungary’s most outstanding media content. The prizes are awarded by a professional jury delegated by organizational members of Mediaforum. Submissions are open until February 15, 2026, for Hungarian-language content published between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.

The competition is open to all formats: written (online or print), audio, and video. In addition to articles, we welcome submissions of television and radio content, online videos, and podcasts. Entries may be submitted by anyone at minosegiujsagiras@mediaforum.hu, and the jury also reserves the right to select content for the competition independently.

The winners of the year’s best Hungarian-language media content will be announced in February. The judging process will take place throughout January and February, with the winners of the best Hungarian-language media content of the year being announced in February. The awards will be presented at an event in late February. The Grand Prize for Quality Journalism includes a prize of one million HUF.

Judging Criteria:

  • Formal Excellence: Quality of language, style, and clarity.
  • Quality of Editing: Logical structure and the harmony between content and form.
  • Relevance: Importance and timeliness of the chosen topic.
  • Depth of Research: The quantity, quality, and verification of the information and facts presented.
  • Innovation: Originality of the subject matter or the method of processing.
