Code of Ethics

We recognize and defend media freedom.
We affirm that the primary responsibility of the media is to inform, educate, and provide voters, consumers, and parents with the necessary information to make informed decisions. The media should promote freedom of expression, ensure the flow of diverse opinions, entertain, and, through all of these functions, contribute to the enhancement of society’s self-awareness.

To fulfill these roles, journalists must be granted the freedom to work without political or economic pressures, and without fear or favor. Those who subscribe to this Code of Ethics commit, to the best of their professional judgment, to provide information that is accurate, fair, and truthful.
