According to its statutes, the Association aims to: represent and promote the social importance and values of the independent Hungarian media sector as widely as possible; coordinate and promote the adoption of standards in different fields; promote solidarity within the sector, develop its institutions and practices; improve the working conditions of those working in the sector; explore, develop and operate advocacy and legal aid opportunities; develop and maintain the sector’s institutional network in Hungary and elsewhere.
The Media Forum Association was established in 2024 by amending the name and the statutes of the Forum of Editors-in-Chief, which was founded in 2012.
